HCM City (VNA) – A seminar was held in Ho Chi MinhCity on May 14 to discuss measures to develop its key industrial products forthe 2018-2020 period.

Experts mulled over the possibility of cooperation among managers,scientists, and businesses in developing the city’s key industrial products.

Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Science andTechnology Nguyen Ky Phung said the city has provided support for science andtechnology development, product commercialisation following studies andtechnological transfer, and start-up incubation.

Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Industry andTrade Nguyen Phuong Dong highlighted the need to acquire feedback fromindividuals, organisations, and socio-economic sectors on the work.

At the event, managers, scientists, and businesspeoplesigned cooperation agreements to carry out sci-tech studies, contributing tothe process.

Specifically, the Bach Khoa Research Centre forManufacturing and Engineering signed a deal with the Industrial AutomationAdvisor Ltd., Co., to develop machinery and assembly lines for the processingof aquatic products.

Meanwhile, the Centre for Applied Geographic Information Systemof Ho Chi Minh City and the Nam Long Technological JSC will jointly developInternet-of-Things technology for monitoring floods.

Products in mechanical engineering, information technology,food, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals will also be developed in the city.–VNA
