Ho Chi Minh City eyes 108 billion USD in exports by 2030

Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City is striving to earn 70 billion USDin export turnover by 2025 and 108 billion USD by 2030, and maintain an averageannual export growth of 9 percent during 2026-2030.

The municipal People’s Committee sets the targets at itsrecently-approved plan on developing export by 2025, with a vision to 2030.

To that end, from now to 2025, the city will maintain andsupport the development of its key products, while making preparations toupgrade industry and participate more deeply in global value chains, and focusingon developing electronics, mechanics, and wood products, which it considers afoundation for its export growth in the time ahead.

In addition, the city will upgrade infrastructure servingexport, and atthe same time reform and increase the quality of public services directlyrelated to import-export activities with the aim of providing the best possibleservices.

By 2030, the city will build strategies to improvecompetitiveness of its outstanding export products such as electronics,mechanics, optics, software, and service exports such as finance, tourism andlogistics.

It will also attract more investment in finance, banking andlogistics, and form logistics service centres, and step up human resourcesdevelopment.

Last year, the largest economic hub of Vietnam earned over40 billion USD from exports./.
