– A Vietnam – Japan cultural space is planned to covermultiple areas in Hoi An ancient town in the central province of Quang Nam onNovember 10 and 11.

The eventaims to celebrate 45 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries(September 21, 1973 – 2017).

The spacewill span across Nguyen Thi Minh Street and areas around Cau Pagoda (JapaneseCovered Bridge).

Highlight ofthe two-day event is a ceremony to receive a red seal ship model as a gift fromthe Japanese prefecture of Nagasaki.

The model rebuilds the ship once carrying Princess Ngoc Hoa to her husband’shome in Nagasaki. Ngoc Hoa was a princess of the Nguyen Dynasty, who marriedAraki Sotaro, a Japanese businessman in Hoi An nearly 400 years ago. Theirmarriage became a symbol of friendship between the two localities andnations.-VNA
