“Homeland Spring” programme to take place in Hanoi

Hanoi (VNA) – The “Xuan Que Huong” (Homeland Spring) 2019 programme will be heldin the capital city of Hanoi on January 26 (the 21st day of the 12th lunarmonth).

The annual event,which was first organised in 2008, aims to provide a platform for overseasVietnamese to share their aspirations and thoughts and honour those who havecontributed to the homeland’s development.

The overseascommunity will get updated on socio-economic affairs at home and connect withtheir countrymen in Vietnam and abroad.

The programmewill be jointly held by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs andthe Hanoi People’s Committee. It will be broadcast live on channels VTV1 andVTV4.

There areapproximately 4.5 million Vietnamese living and working in 103 countries andterritories worldwide. They form an indispensable part of the nation and playan important role in intensifying friendship and cooperation between Vietnamand the rest of the world.-VNA
