Singapore (VNA) - In a world with complex developments and intertwined opportunities and challenges, Vietnam has boldly stepped into a new era, demonstrating remarkable initiative in strengthening diplomatic relations, particularly with other Southeast Asian nations like Singapore.

Professor Vu Minh Khuong from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy under the National University of Singapore told the Vietnam News Agency that both Vietnam and Singapore possess huge potential to elevate their relations to a new high in the coming time.

Assessing Vietnam's international integration process, Khuong noted that Vietnam has performed admirably throughout decades of reform, with particularly impressive strides like establishing Comprehensive Strateg💮🐎ic Partnerships with major global players and several countries both within and beyond the region.

In Southeast Asia, Singapore stands as one of the world’s most advanced nations and an important partner of major powers, particularly the US and China. Therefore, Vietnam’s push for deeper ties with Singapore signals its strategic vision and determination to achieve remarkable progress in the future.

He underscored that both countries have extensive opportunities to strengthen their partnership, a connection that becomes even more significant amid complex global fluctuations. Vietnam is entering a new era characterised by three critical elements, namely institutional frameworks; substantial emphasis on science, technology, and innovation; and nimble decision-making process from policy formulation to implementation.

These suggest that deepening ties with Singapore could yield substantial positive outcomes for both nations, he added./.
