Hung Yen (VNA)🥀 – Greenworks Co., Ltd. has broken ground on Phase 2 of its lithium battery-powered garden tools factory at Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park (Green iP-1) in the northern province of Hung Yen. With a total registered investment of 200 million USD across an area of around 20 ha, the project is being rolled out in three phases.

Phase 1, covering 46,000 sq.m, entered operation in August 2023. It is designed to produce 100 million plastic components and nearly 3,900 tonnes of metal parts annually. The initial successes of this phase have affirmed the effectiveness of the investment and laid a solid foundation for the project's subsequent phases. Phase 2, now under construction, will utilise 44,200 sq.m. This phase will focus on the production of aluminium-cast components (approximately 1,550 tonnes/year), battery packs (100,000 units/year), and motors for garden tools (20,000 units/year).
Phase 3, occupying nearly 110,000 sq.m, will assemble finished products using input components from the previous two phases. While a portion of plastic parts and components will be exported to the parent company, the majority will be assembled into complete garden equipment with an expected annual output of over 3 million units. Once fully operational, the Greenworks Thai Binh plant is expected to generate annual revenues of approximately 500 million USD and create stable employment for around 5,000 local workers. The presence of a major investor like Greenworks in the Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park will contribute to strengthening high-tech and environmentally friendly industrial production, while promoting green transition efforts.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, a Greenworks representative said the launch of Phase 2 marks a significant milestone in Greenworks’ development strategy in the Asia-Pacific region. The project demonstrates the company’s strong commitment and long-term vision in expanding its market presence, enhancing production capacity, and driving innovation. He also expressed strong confidence in the potential of the Vietnamese market in general and Hung Yen province in particular. Its decision to invest in Green iP-1 highlights Hung Yen’s competitiveness, attractive investment environment, and effective FDI attraction policies./.
