New Delhi (VNA) – Indian Foreign SecretarySubrahmanyam Jaishankar on November 21 said that India’s collaboration withASEAN and East Asia has been deepened.

Speaking at an event in the capital city of New Delhi,Jaishankar said India’s relationships with ASEAN and East Asia are associatedwith the era of reform and nations in the regions have been agents of changeand partners in trade and investment.

The upgrading of Look East to Act East policy signifiesthe shift in India’s diplomacy, which also includes security and strategicdimensions. The country’s Think West initiative shows its more substantiveeconomic cooperation with the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iran, among others, hesaid.

The foreign secretary also highlighted the SAGAR doctrineinitiated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to transform India bydeveloping blue economy alongside other leading initiatives of the country,such as Digital India, Skill India, Smart Cities, and Start-up India.-VNA
