Indonesia calls on US investors to support sustainable growth

Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has urged US business leaders to prioritise environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles when investing in his country.
Indonesian Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan P. Roeslani, who accompanied the President to a meeting with representatives of the US-Indonesia Society (USINDO) in Washington, D.C., on November 11 (local time), said the leader urged them not just to invest capital in Indonesia, but to apply ESG principles, ensuring their investments benefit the community.
The President said this is a very important matter, Indonesian news agency Antara reported.
Roeslani said that at the meeting, President Prabowo emphasised his zero tolerance for corruption and stated that if anyone is involved in corruption or creating problems, they can contact him directly.
At the same time, Indonesia pledged to cut red tape, creating favourable conditions for foreign investors to enter the market.
