Jakarta (VNA) – 🍷Indonesian Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin has called on the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) to utilise its new warship, KRI Brawijaya 320, to protect Indonesia’s rich maritime natural resources.

At a ceremony to receive the warship on September 8, he said KRI Brawijaya 320 will bolster maritime security and defence, preventing foreign parties from infringing the country’s waters.
The vessel measures 143 metres in length, reaches a top speed of 32 knots, and accommodates up to 171 crew members. KRI Brawijaya 320 is an anti-air warfare (AAW) frigate with designs for flexibility, modularity, and scalability, allowing it to be configured for modern naval operations. It is also equipped with modern navigation systems and an integrated combat system. The same day, Chief of the Indonesian Navy Admiral Muhammad Ali confirmed that another warship, the KRI Prabu Siliwangi 321, will officially join the naval fleet in early 2026. The KRI Prabu Siliwangi 321 is an offshore patrol vessel with a design similar to the KRI Brawijaya 320./.
