Indonesia, Egypt strengthen anti-terrorism cooperation

Indonesian President Joko Widodo and his Egyptian counterpart Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi agreed to boost bilateral cooperation, especially in anti-terrorism, during their talks in Jakarta on September 4.
The two sides concurred to lift up bilateral ties and strengthen contacts to deal with challenges, including the fight against terrorism and extremism, said al-Sisi at a press conference following the talks.
He affirmed that Egypt will response to Jakarta’s request on protecting about 1,200 Indonesian workers and 3,000 students in Egypt.
On his part, Widodo proposed that the Egyptian government loosen investment procedure for Indonesian investors.
According to Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Indonesia has been investing heavily to Egypt’s apparel, food and drink sectors.-VNA
