Inspectors find nearly 2 bln USD involved in economic-related violations

The Government Inspectorate disclosed the outcomes of its activities in Q1 of 2017, noting that it found violations of economic regulations involving over 1.84 billion USD and 168ha of land.

Hanoi (VNA) – The GovernmentInspectorate disclosed on April 24 the outcomes of its activities in the firstquarter of 2017, noting that it found violations of economic regulationsinvolving over 41.82 trillion VND (1.84 billion USD) and 168ha of land.

More than 4.19 trillion VND (184.4 million USD)of the sum was uncovered in the banking sector. That excludes nearly 91.32trillion VND (4 billion USD) involved in violations of the State’s regulations onlending, debt classification and credit risk provisions.

Through inspections, the Government Inspectorateproposed over 8.77 trillion VND (385.96 million USD) and 80ha of land bereclaimed. It asked competent agencies to deal with the remaining 33 trillionVND (1.45 billion USD) and 88ha of land.

The agency proposed imposing administrativepunishment on 259 collectives and individuals, issuing 26,331 decisions metingout penalties for administrative violations that involved over 6.99 trillionVND (307.63 million USD). It also transferred 21 cases with 47 suspects toinvestigation agencies.

Regarding corruption prevention, ministries,sectors and localities examined 762 agencies, organisations and units, findingeight of them with transparency-related violations.

In Q1, State administrative agencies handled4,593, or 58 percent, of the 7,914 complaint and denunciation cases under theirjurisdiction. Meanwhile, ministries, sectors and localities solved 4,581 complaintand denunciation cases under their jurisdiction.

Through resolving those cases, 6.1 billion VND(268,400 USD) and one hectare of land were proposed to be recovered for theState and returned to people. Relevant agencies also restored the interests for303 people, according to the Government Inspectorate.-VNA
