Hanoi (VNA) – Integration has brought aboutpractical benefits for businesses and people while promoting the adaptation ofdomestic regulations to international standards, Deputy Prime Minister andForeign Minister Pham Binh Minh has said.
He made the remark at a plenary session of theNational Steering Committee on International Integration in Hanoi on March 9.
Participants at the event shared the view thatin 2016, the committee actively steered ministries, sectors and localities’actions to step up integration.
The Party and the State issued many importantrelevant documents, including the Politburo’s Resolution 22 and the 12th Party Central Committee’s Resolution 06-NQ/TW on effectively implementinginternational economic integration and maintaining political and socialstability amidst Vietnam’s participation in new-generation free tradeagreements (FTAs).
Minh said the Government will launch an actionprogramme involving more than 50 tasks to realise Resolution 06-NQ/TW. Relevantagencies need to work closely together to align domestic regulations with thesigned FTAs.
Regarding APEC activities, he said this is thesecond time Vietnam has hosted the forum, which is an opportunity for thecountry to contribute more to APEC’s development and to strengthen economicpartnerships with other APEC members.
He asked for better measures to facilitate thepublic’s access to integration information. Meanwhile, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerceand Industry also needs to be more active to help enterprises make use ofFTAs.-VNA
