Nguyen Phuong Dong, deputy director of the city'sDepartment of Industry and Trade, said the Vietnam International Machinery Fair and theVietnam Supporting Industry Fair have around 250 booths set up by local andforeign firms based in Vietnam. On display are supporting industry products, metalproducts and metalworking solutions, automation solutions and motion controlsystems, industrial materials and components, electrical equipment,construction machinery, and lifting equipment. The fairs will alsofeature other events like a workshop on opportunities to welcome a newinvestment wave by Vietnamese enterprises post COVID-19 and business matchingactivities. “Organising the fairsamid the COVID-19 pandemic is an effort … to help strengthen linkages betweenVietnam’s supporting industry firmsand product manufacturers and foreign firms, and enable local firms to grabopportunities to expand market share in both domestic and foreign markets,” Dong said. Ahn Seong Ho, the consulgeneral of the Republic of Korea in HCMCity, said the exhibitions offer a good opportunity for both Korean andVietnamese companies to understand consumers’ demand, catch up on market trendsand enhance cooperation.
