Int’l workshop to promote women’s role in promoting peace
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UN will jointly host an international workshop on enhancing the role of women in building and promoting peace, in the in-person and online formats on December 7-9.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UN will jointly hostan international workshop on enhancing the role of women in building and promotingpeace, in the in-person and online formats on December 7-9.
National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong and Deputy Prime Minister andForeign Minister Pham Binh Minh will address the Hanoi event.
Five plenary sessions and four workshops to be held in the framework of theevent will review the implementation of Resolution 1325 of the UN SecurityCouncil (UNSC) over the last 20 years, point out difficulties and challengesfacing the task, and propose orientations for policy and action coordination ofthe international community in the coming time.
The event will also include exhibitions introducing Vietnam’s efforts andachievements, as well as international assistance for the country in overcomingconsequences of bombs and mines left over fromwar, and promoting the Southeast Asian nation's policy on ensuringgender equality, and the participation and contribution of women in national defenceand construction.
The workshop expects to see the participation of about 150-200 internationaldelegates, including senior officials from the UN and its member countries,outstanding women operating in promoting peace, security and gender equality,scholars, as well as those from UN organiations in Vietnam, financialinstitutes, and non-governmental organisations.
Representatives from various ministries, the Government Office, PartyCommittees and agencies of the NA, as well as friendship organisations will representVietnam at the event./.
A draft Resolution on “The Role Of Women Parliamentarians In Securing Jobs and Income for Women Workers” was adopted on September 8 in the virtual Meeting of Women Parliamentarians of AIPA (WAIPA) within the framework of the 41st General Assembly of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-41).

A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
