HCM City (VNA)🦹 – The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in Vietnam and the Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (UCIMA), are organising a booth at the 18th International Exhibition on Processing, Packaging, and Packaging Technology (ProPak Vietnam 2025), showcasing packaging machinery, production, and processing solutions from leading Italian businesses.

The Italian firms bring to the expo a wide range of cutting-edge technologies for packaging machines and production lines across various sectors, including food processing, beverages, confectionery, agricultural products, personal care, and cosmetics. With their advanced technology and extensive experience, they are seeking opportunities for direct trade connections, technology transfer, and support for Vietnamese enterprises in adopting sustainable packaging solutions. As one of among leading countries in developing environementally-friendly packaging, Italy, through the event, aims to enhance its presence in Vietnam, helping enterprises meet ESG (Environmental – Social – Governance) standards.
For many years, Italy has been well-knowned for the packing industry thanks to the combination of advanced technologies, creative designs, and adaptability to market demands. Italian companies have heavily invested in automation for packaging machinery and production lines, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs. The integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) and AI technologies has further optimised manufacturing processes and quality control. Statistics show that major Italian packaging corporations have exported their machinery and technology to over 150 countries and territories worldwide. Fabio De Cillis, Director of ITA in Vietnam, said that ITA annually organises a booth at ProPak Vietnam, attracting many Italian businesses aiming to expand their brand presence among both long-term and new partners. On the other hand, ITA also facilitates Vietnamese importers and buyers in attending major trade fairs in Italy, fostering bilateral trade and investment relations between the two countries.
He emphasised ITA’s commitment to promoting industries where Italy holds traditional strengths, particularly in machinery and technology. Beyond packaging equipment, ITA aims to support supply chain integration in textile machinery, industrial tools, leather, and woodworking machines. Additionally, ITA is focusing on expanding the market for Italian agricultural and food products in Vietnam. Currently, Vietnam and Italy are strengthening their strategic partnership across multiple sectors, with robust cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels. Vietnam remains Italy’s largest trading partner in ASEAN, while Italy is Vietnam’s third-largest EU trade partner./.
