🌄 Vietnam establishes first free trade zone in Da Nang
Developed with state-of-the-art infrastructure, the Da Nang FTZ is designed to become a leading regional economic centre and a strategic growth pole in Vietnam’s new development landscape.
Japan underscored its commitment in a statement released on July 10after the 5th meeting between Japanese Foreign Minister and hiscounterparts from the Mekong countries including Vietnam, Laos, Myanmarand Cambodia.
Accordingly, Japan will help Vietnamimplement a variety of construction projects such as the Cai-Mep ThiVai International Airport , urban railway network and upgradingother roads and bridges.
These infrastructure projects are toenhance connectivity between Japan and Vietnam in particular andJapan with other countries in Mekong region in general.
Beyond infrastructural projects, educational development also featuredin its partnership with Vietnam. It noted, for example, that workwas on-going for the Hoa Lac Science and Technology City. It alsoraised the possibility of co-operation in the establishment ofhigh-quality universities in Vietnam.
The 5th Mekong –Japan Foreign Ministers’ Meeting took place at the sidelines of the45th ASEAN Ministerial meeting and the 19th ASEAN Regional Forum./.
