Japan’s Showa Denko Group has worked in conjunction with authoritiesfrom the northern province of Ha Nam to design a plan to develop a cleanvegetable production plant using LED lighting technology.
Duringa working session with leaders of the provincial People’s Committee onJanuary 19, the firm’s General Director, Daiken Murakami, briefed themon the new technology, stressing its necessity for current agriculturalproduction as outdoor cultivation methods are experiencing negativeimpacts from climate change.
The modern method can ensure plantsreceive the necessary growth amenities, ultimately helping conservewater, reducing crop waste volume by 40 percent, and contributing tolower production costs.
Daiken Murakami said his firm has built21 plants applying the technology in Japan and plans to expand the modelto other countries around the world.
The group is eager to cooperate with Vietnamese clean vegetable producers, he added.
Secretaryof the provincial Party Committee Mai Tien Dung introduced a number ofhigh-quality clean vegetable growing models in the province, suggestingcooperation between Showa Denko and Ha Nam’s An Phu Hung Company tocarry out the model in the near future.
The An Phu Hung Companyhas previously partnered with Japan’s H.B.C International tosuccessfully implement a Japanese technology organic vegetable-plantingmodel in Ha Nam.
