Khanh Hoa reports first swine flu death

The year’s first victim of swine flu H1N1 in the central province of Khanh Hoa has died, said an official at the provincial General Hospital on February 13.

Huynh Thanh Tuan, 30, residing inVinh Thanh commune, Nha Trang City , was hospitalised on February5 with symptoms of coughing, shortness of breath, acute respiratorydisorder and multi-organ dysfunction syndrome.

According tothe Ho Chi Minh City-based Oxford University Clinical Research Unit forTropical Diseases on February 11, Tuan’s sample tested positive for H1N1virus.

Other tests by the Pasteur Institutes in HCM City and Nha Trang also showed the same result.-VNA
