Khanh Hoa (VNA)💟 – The central province of Khanh Hoa greeted the 3.5 millionthforeign visitor and the 10 millionth tourist arriving in the locality at theCam Ranh international airport in 2019 at a ceremony on December 18.
The eventwas jointly organized by the provincial Department of Tourism and the AirportsCorporation of Vietnam.
The 3.5millionth foreign visitor was Jung Yoohee from the Republic of Korea, while the10 millionth tourist was Pham Duy Khiem, a Vietnamese citizen. They botharrived on flight VJ837 of the budget airline Vietjet Air.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee NguyenDac Tai said the locality successfully hosted the National Tourism Year 2019,which helped foster tourism linkages between Khanh Hoa and other localitiesnationwide, and between Vietnamese and international travel agencies.
So far this year, Khanh Hoa has received over 7 million holiday-makers staying overnight,with a half being foreigners, representing year-on-year increases of 13.3percent and 27.5 percent, respectively.
International visitors to Khanh Hoa are mainly from China, Russia, the Republicof Korea, and Malaysia.

A new direct service connecting Guangzhou, China and Khanh Hoa, scheduled to be launched on June 20, promises a surge in the flow of Chinese tourists to the central coastal province.
The central coastal province of Khanh Hoa will host the Visit Vietnam Year 2019 under the theme of “Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival”, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The number of visitors increased by 4.1% compared to the same period last year, while total tourism revenue surged by 48.8%, or nearly 88% of the year’s target.
