Kien Giang calls for investment in IPs

Kien Giang province has called for investments in infrastructure projects in Thanh Loc, Thuan Yen, Xeo To, Tac Cau and Kien Luong II industrial parks with a total area of 763 hectares.

Kien Giang (VNA) – The Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang has called for investmentsin infrastructure projects in Thanh Loc, Thuan Yen, Xeo To, Tac Cau and KienLuong II industrial parks (IP) with a total area of 763 hectares.

Along with supporting workssuch as workers’ houses and service-trade area for Thanh Loc industrial park,Kien Giang has lured investments in potential projects in its strong areasincluding agro-fishery product processing and preserving, goods production,wood, electronics assembling, garment and construction production.

According to theprovincial economic zone management board, local IPs are located in poorlocalities, thus investment projects in the parks will enjoy preferentialpolicies, including those in land rent, tax, labour and administrativeprocedures.

Currently, Kien Giangis developing Thanh Loc IP in Chau Thanh district and Thuan Yen IP in Ha Tiendistrict. So far, the parks have attracted 25 projects worth over 6,240 billionVND (274 million USD) and covering over112 hectares. Of which, seven became operational, with total revenue in 2017reaching about 3.8 trillion VND and exports hitting over 82 million USD.

The board alsoencouraged investment projects by offering free use of infrastructure andensuring power and water supply.

Kien Giang is strongin agro-forestry-fishery production and processing with a total output of over740,000 tonnes per year, along with over 4 million tonnes of food per year.

The province also ownsabundant labour forces with over 11 million people in working age.

Particularly, ThanhLoc IP, close to Rach Gia city and about 5km from the airport, and Thuan Yen IP,near Ha Tien town, are convenient for investors to implement their projects.-VNA
