The Korea Eximbank Chairman made the statement at his meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in Hanoi on Oct. 27.

PM Dung spoke highly of Korea Eximbank’s provision of loans for Vietnam for developing socio-economic infrastructure.

Hesaid projects with the bank’s investment, especially the constructionof Vam Cong bridge and the southern coastal road route, were importantto Vietnam ’s socio-economic development and contributed in apractical way to friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

PMDung told the bank official that Vietnam ’s biggest current challengewas investment for infrastructural development, especially transportsystems, so the country is in dire need for international community’sassistance, including that of the Republic of Korea .

Heasked Korea Eximbank to continue arranging loans for Vietnam toenable it to complete the construction of Vam Cong bridge and thesouthern coastal road route.

Korea Eximbank Chairman highlyvalued the Vietnamese government’s role in weathering economic crisisimpacts and maintaining the country’s economic growth.

He said he believed Vietnam would fulfill all development goals it has set forth.

KoreaEximbank and the Vietnamese Transport Ministry are working on loans fora series of transport infrastructure projects, including 120 millionUSD for the southern coastal corridor road route, 200 million USD forthe construction of Vam Cong bridge, and 100 million USD for thebuilding of Vinh Thinh bridge./.
