Seoul (VNA) – Kumho Tire Co., Inc will continue to sponsor activities of the Association of Vietnamese People in the Republic of Korea (RoK) under♎ an agreemenꦰt signed between the two sides in Seoul on May 11.

Accordingly, Kumho Tire will provide 140 million won (about 120,000 USD) for the association’s operations and organisation of cultural events in two years, starting on April 1.

At the signing ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Huu Chi appreciated Kumho Tire’s assistance and pledged that the funding will be used for the right purpose in an effective manner. For his part, Kumho Tire co-CEO Lee Han-seop said although the total value is not big, the sponsorship is very meaningful to his company. He hopes that the money will help the Vietnamese association conduct practical activities in the time ahead. About 137,000 Vietnamese people are living in the RoK, statistics show.-VNA
