During this Tet crop, more than 840 ha of tangerine have been planted in Lai Vung district, with average yield of 30-50 tonnes per ha, which is expected to help locals earn up to 0.88 USD per kilogram. Taking full advantage of the local speciality, many gardeners also offer tourism services for tourists to experience a day harvesting tangerines. To serve the large number of tourists, tangerines are planted throughout the season so that ripe fruit is available until late April.

Pham Anh Khoa, a tourist from Binh Thanh district, Ho Chi Minh City said "I’ve been to the southwest region many times but have tried this type of tourism. Coming here I feel very relaxed and had a wonderful experience picking and eating tangerines."

Meanwhile,  Nguyen Van Day, a tangerine grower from Long Hau commune, Lai Vung district, Dong Thap province shared " In order to serve tourists, I have grown tangerines three different times. I also invested in improving the road and bridge so that the will feel more comfortable here. I also built more places for them to take a rest while taking photos at my farm."
