Lam Dong (VNA)🌠 – The People’s Committee of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong has directed relevant agencies to devise support and cooperation plans with Lien Khuong International Airport to expand international flight routes, strengthening connectivity between the locality and key destinations in the region.

Lien Khuong International Airport has undergone significant upgrades to meet operational requirements for both domestic and international flights. However, collaboration with local authorities remains crucial in promoting new direct international routes that link Da Lat with countries across the region. Currently, the airport is able to handle 2.5 million passengers annually. Domestic airlines operate at the airport, such as Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, Bamboo Airways, and Vietjet Air, offering air service connecting Da Lat with major cities such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Vinh, Can Tho, Da Nang, and Ho Chí Minh City. In 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, the airport is estimated to serve 34–36 domestic flights per day, with about 6,700 passengers daily.
Besides, Jeju Air, and Korean Air conduct fights connecting Da Lat and the Republic of Korea, while Air Asia operate the route from Da Lat to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). In recent years, the number of flights between the RoK and Da Lat from Lien Khuong International Airport has increased, reflecting the growing demand for air travel to Da Lat. With an increasing number of tourists choosing the "City of thousand flowers" as a travel destination, it is essential for the province to double efforts to restore and expand domestic flight frequencies and introduce new international routes - such as Da Lat–Singapore, Da Lat–Siem Reap, and flights to Northeast Asian markets including China and the RoK. The RoK, in particular, remains the largest source of international visitors to Da Lat.
Lam Dong province, known for its strong tourism potential, especially in Da Lat - a green, smart city that is rich in cultural identity and a national and international hub for ecological and luxury resort tourism, sees the expansion of both domestic and international air routes as a key factor in driving economic and social development. In the first two months of 2025, the province welcomed approximately 1.87 million visitors, reflecting a 10% increase year-on-year. This included 1.73 million domestic tourists and 140,000 international visitors, nearly 50% of whom were from the RoK. The surge in Korean visitors is largely attributed to the availability of direct flights between the East Asian country and Lien Khuong International Airport, making it easier for travellers to explore the "City of thousand flowers."/.
