Hanoi (VNA) - Lao Prime Minister SonexaySiphandone and his spouse arrived in Hanoi on January 6, beginning a two-day official visit to Vietnam and co-chairing the 46th meeting of theVietnam-Laos Inter-Governmental Committee.
Made at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, it isSonexay Siphandone’s first official visit to Vietnam in his new capacity. TheLao PM is scheduled to participate in an official welcoming ceremony and holdtalks with the Vietnamese PM. They will jointly presideover the 46th meeting. The Lao Government leader will also have meetings withVietnamese leaders and engage in various activities during his time in thecapital.
Sonexay Siphandone’s entourage includes Lao Deputy PM andMinister of National Defence General Chansamone Chanyalath, Deputy PM and Minister ofForeign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith, Minister of Planning and Investment andChairman of the Laos-Vietnam Cooperation Committee Khamjane Vongphosy, Ministerand Head of the PM's Office Alounxai Sounnalath, Minister of Industry andCommerce Malaithong Kommasith, Minister of Information, Culture, and TourismSuanesavanh Vignaket, Minister of Energy and Mines Phosay Sayasone, Minister ofEducation and Sports Phout Simmalavong, and Minister of Finance SantiphabPhomvihane, Minister of Technology and Communications and Chairman of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association Boviengkham Vongdara, Governor of the Bank of Laos Bounleua Sinxayvoravong, and Minister of Public Works and Transport Ngampasong Muongmany, among other officials./.
The upcoming official visit of Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone to Vietnam from January 6-7 is expected to enhance the trust and close bond between the two Parties and Governments and contribute to making the Vietnam-Laos great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation more substantial and effective, according to Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung.
