Hanoi (VNA) – Law making will dominate the agenda of the second session of the 14 th National Assembly🎉 (NA) scheduled for October 20-November 23.

The information came out at a press conference co-chaired by the NA Secretary General Nguyen Hanh Phuc, who is also Chairman of the NA Office, and Vice Chairman of the NA Office Do Manh Hung in Hanoi on October 18. The legislature is expected to pass four bills, including the Law on Associations, the Law on Belief and Religion, the Law on Asset Auction and the law adjusting and supplementing several articles of Penal Code No. 100/2015/QH13.
The resolution adjusting and supplementing several articles of Resolution No. 55/2010/QH12 on the exemption and reduction of agricultural land use tax is due to sail through the session, Hung said. The legislators will also give feedback on other 12 draft laws and the NA’s resolution on pilot grant of e-visas for foreigners entering Vietnam, according to the official. They will spend about ten days scrutinising reports of the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuracy. The legislature’s supreme supervision over the implementation of the national target programme on new-style rural area building for 2010-2015 will also be put on the table.
The hearing session is projected to last for two and a half day. Phuc told reporters that the NA is continuing to revamp its operation, especially in legislative activities. To improve the quality of law making and put laws into life, the legislative body has adopted the law on the issuance of legal documents, he said, urging agencies to follow the law while drafting legal documents. The official noted that ministers will field questions concerning socio-economic reports and draft laws raised by NA deputies.
The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement will not be debated at the meeting as competent agencies need more time to prepare for the discussion, he said.-VNA
