Hanoi (VNA) - The 2016 Made inThailand Outlet opens in Hanoi on December 15 with a variety of products onoffer. 

Addressing the opening ceremony, MonapchaiVongphakdi, Thai Ambassador to Vietnam, spoke highly of the traditionalfriendship between the two countries. The year 2016 marked the 40th anniversaryof the Vietnam – Thailand diplomatic relations.

The fair houses 164 pavilions offering food,beverages, household utensils, garment-textile, electrical devices, health careproducts and interior decorations of 130 Thai companies.

Nguyen Phuc Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Asia - PacificMarket under the Ministry of Industry and Trade said the organisation ofThailand trade fairs, particularly the Made-in-Thailand Outlets, shows activesupport of relevant agencies for the two nations’ trade promotion as well asVietnam’s potential in ASEAN.

According to the Ministry, ending October, thenations’ trade value posted at 9.9 billion USD, up 5.7 percent from the sameperiod last year.

The figure is expected to reach 11.9 billion USDthis year. Thailand remains Vietnam’s biggest trade partner in ASEAN.

It has been held for nine years in Hanoi andreceived warm response from Vietnamese customers.

The fair, organised by the Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Company(Vinexad) and the Trade Office under the Thai Embassy in Vietnam at theCultural Friendship Palace, will run until December 18.-VNA
