Man detained for storing and disseminating anti-state documents

Thuy, born in 1950 and residing in Thanh Xuan Trung ward, Thanh Xuandistrict, Hanoi, was accused of "making, storing, and disseminating or popularizing information and documents against the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam" as stipulated at Article 117 of theCriminal Code.
Thuy was involved in the case of "making, storing, and disseminating or popularizing information and documents against the State of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam" led by Pham Chi Dung. He is a member of the so-called "Independent Journalists Associationof Vietnam".

The People’s Court in Ninh Kieu district of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho has sentenced Pham Xuan Hao to 12 months in jail for “abusing democratic freedom to infringe upon the interests of the State, lawful rights and interests of organizations and/or citizens” under Clause 1, Article 331 of the Criminal Code 2015.
