Manufacturing tools on display at exhibition

The latest global manufacturing solutions and machine-tool technologies are on display at the 7th Vietnam International Precision Engineering, Machine Tools and Metalworking Exhibition which opened in HCM City on July 6.

Speaking at the opening, Bui Thi ThucAnh, director of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry'sExhibition Service Ltd Co, said the event featured 342 exhibitors - a 46percent increase - from 23 countries and territories.

Of them, 83 percent are foreign, including those from Germany,Singapore, Italy, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, the US, Japan, andThailand.

There are some renowned internationalnames like AMADA, Blum, Yamazen, TRUMPF, Nikon, Bystronic and Makino.

Doan Duy Khuong, deputy chairman of the VietnamChamber of Commerce and Industry, said: "The exhibition will helpdomestic businesses promote their products and build new partnerships toimprove their competitiveness."

Stephen Tan,director of the Singapore Exhibition Services Pte Ltd, said this yearthe very latest and best metal cutting, metal forming, testing andmeasurement, and industrial tools and components would be on displayunlike past years when just modern technologies were showcased.

Two seminars on engineering maintenance and production andwaste management will be held on July 7-8 before the exhibition closeson July 9.

MTA Vietnam 2010 is being held at the SaiGon Exhibition and Convention Centre by the VCCI Exhibition Service LtdCo in collaboration with the Singapore Exhibition Services Pte Ltd withsupport from the Ministry of Industry and Trade./.
