More int’l support for disadvantaged people

The Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam Co. (Doosan Vina) under Doosan Group and Chung Ang University Hospital of the Republic of Korea (RoK) are organising a charitable health programme in the central province of Quang Ngai from July 6-12.

The programme, thesixth of its kind in Vietnam , provides free check-ups and medicinefor 2,100 old people and 400 children in Binh Son and Son Tinhdistricts.

Three kids with congenital heart diseases will receive free surgery at the Chung Ang University Hospital .

This year’s programme costs around 165,000 USD funded by both Doosan Vina and the hospital.

On July 8, the Lawrence S.Ting Community Support Fund of Taiwan (China ) presented 46 wheelchairs and 55 tricycles to people withdisabilities in the northern province of Ha Nam .

The gifts are expected to facilitate the travel of disabled people and reduce the burden on their families.

Earlier in 2012, the fund also gave 150 wheelchairs and tricycles to the disabled in the locality.-VNA
