- Party General Secretary To Lam met with members of the Vietnam Innovation Network in Korea (VINK) and Vietnamese experts living and working in the Republic of Korea (RoK) in Seoul on August 10 as part of his state visit to the RoK.
Co-organised by the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam and the VINK, the event reflected the attention of the Party, State, and General Secretary Lam towards overseas Vietnamese intellectuals and reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to advancing science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. - As part of his state visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK), Party General Secretary To Lam, his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation attended the inauguration ceremony of a statue of late President Ho Chi Minh in the Vietnamese Embassy’s campus in Seoul on August 10.
The statue is not only a cultural and artistic work, but also a vivid symbol of the close and enduring friendship between the Vietnamese and Korean people. It serves as a reminder of the values to which the late leader devoted his life for independence, freedom, peace, friendship, and solidarity among nations. Read full story
- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called for the mobilisation of the strength and resources of the entire nation and society to drive economic development as a whole, including the private sector, with the aim of delivering both material and spiritual benefits to the people.
The PM chaired a working session with the Private Sector Development Research Board (Board IV) in Hanoi on August 10, focusing on implementing the Politburo's Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW along with resolutions from the National Assembly and the Government to advance the private economic sector. - A special national political–art programme “Under the Glorious Flag” took place simultaneously in Hanoi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City to honour the country’s historical and cultural values and noble qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, and inspire national pride and revolutionary ideals.
General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and Secretary of the Central Military Commission To Lam attended the event in Hanoi, while Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man were present the event in Hue and in Ho Chi Minh City, respectively. - Vietnam showcased durian and related products at the first-ever ASEAN–China Durian Festival held in Beijing on August 9 by the ASEAN–China Centre (ACC) and the embassies of ASEAN member states.
The Vietnamese booth featured fresh durian, durian ice cream, durian cakes, and other fruits such as dragon fruit and passion fruit, attracting strong interest from Beijing residents and ASEAN diplomats. Read full story
- More than 5,000 people gathered at Dam Sen Cultural Park in Ho Chi Minh City for the solidarity walk for victims of Agent Orange/dioxin (AO), marking the 64th anniversary of the AO disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 – 2025).
Among participants included former State President Nguyen Minh Triet, former State Vice President Truong My Hoa, and Tran To Nga - a French national of Vietnamese origin and an AO victim who has spent more than a third of her life seeking justice through international courts. Read full story
