- Party General Secretary To Lam, who is head of the central steering committee for perfecting institutions and laws, chaired its thematic meeting on August 5, during which he stressed that all legal bottlenecks that have been identified must be addressed early and thoroughly to prevent them from hindering development.
General Secretary Lam urged the Party Committees of the National Assembly (NA) and the Government to direct the inclusion of 25 out of 47 laws into the 2025 law-making agenda of the NA for approval at the upcoming 10th session of the 15th legislature, in order to promptly solve legal-related obstacles. - State President Luong Cuong and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El‑Sisi on August 5 issued a joint statement on upgrading Vietnam - Egypt ties to a Comprehensive Partnership.
The upgrade of the bilateral relationship came as the two leaders held a tête-à-tête and official talks in Cairo as part of President Cuong’s state visit to Egypt. Read full story
- A Vietnamese delegation attended the 48th Meeting of the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Economic Integration (48th HLTF-EI), which concluded in Malaysia on August 5, with key recommendations on ASEAN economic integration to be submitted to the ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting scheduled for mid-September 2025.
The two-day event brought together representatives from member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the ASEAN Secretariat, and Timor-Leste, which participated as an observer. Read full story
- Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the press to inform the outcomes of their talks on August 5 in Cairo as part of the former’s ongoing state visit to Egypt.
President El-Sisi warmly welcomed President Cuong and the high-level Vietnamese delegation. He emphasised that the visit, from August 3 to 6, is taking place at a very special time, as the two countries have enjoyed 60 years of cooperation and mutual support at all levels, which lays a solid foundation for the closeness and connection between the two states and peoples. - State President Luong Cuong met with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on the afternoon of August 5 (local time), within the framework of his State visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

- As part of Vietnamese President Luong Cuong’s state visit to Egypt, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son on August 5 met with Egyptian Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania A. Al-Mashat, who also serves as Chair of the Egyptian Subcommittee of the Vietnam–Egypt Joint Committee.
Son praised Egypt’s impressive development achievements in various sectors and welcomed the two countries’ agreement to elevate their relationship to a Comprehensive Partnership.
