NA Chairman pays working visit to Ba Ria – Vung Tau
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue on January 2 inspected the implementation of the component project No. 3 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project in Phu My township, and the Southern Petrochemical Complex Project in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau (VNA) - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hueon January 2 inspected the implementation of the component project No. 3 of the Bien Hoa -Vung Tau expressway project in Phu My township, and the SouthernPetrochemical Complex Project in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau.
The first phase of the over-17-trillion-VND(698.5 million USD) expressway project passes through the provinces of DongNai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, with a length of 53.7km. It is divided into threecomponent projects, of which the No.1 is managed by Dong Nai, the No. 2 by theMinistry of Transport, and the No. 3 by Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
NA Chairman Hue lauded Ba Ria – Vung Tau’sefforts to accelerate the construction of the 19.5-km section. As of December31, 2023, the province had basically completed the ground clearance work.
Inspecting the implementation of the over 5.1-billion-USD Southern Petrochemical Complex Project invested by the SiamCement Group (SCG) - one of the leading industrial firms of Thailand and theparent company of Long Son Petrochemicals (LSP), he highly valued efforts madeby the SCG and the LSP to overcome difficulties and challenges to put thecomplex into operation.
The implementation of thelarge-scale project according to the committed schedule has contributed toaffirming the Vietnamese Party's policies and the State's policies and laws onattracting foreign direct investment (FDI), thus contributing to creatingmotivation for the development for Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, as well as astrong spill-over in many fields, and realising the oil and gas sector’s developmentstrategy to 2025, with a vision to 2035.
The top legislator expressed his belief that with theirreputation and experience, the SCG and the LSP will apply scientific advancesand modern technologies in its operation, abide by Vietnamese laws onenvironmental protection and sustainable development, uphold socialresponsibilities ad pay attention to social security.

He also asked ministries and the provinceto create favourable conditions for the companies to officially inaugurate thecomplex in March.
The project has created around 18,000 jobs duringthe construction process and is expected to generate more than 1,000 jobs afterit is put into commercial operation. The complex was put into trial operationon December 25, 2023 and is expected to be put into commercial operation in thefirst quarter of 2024./.
The Prime Minister has approved an investment plan for the first phase of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project, which is expected to speed up travel between Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City.

The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway is particularly significant in connecting and shortening transportation time from the Southern Key Economic Region to the Cai Mep - Thi Vai deep-water seaport cluster and Long Thanh International Airport.
