–National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on January 24 visited andpresented gifts to poor households and policy beneficiaries in the centralprovince of Ha Tinh ahead of thetraditional Lunar New Year (Tet), the country’s biggest national holidays.

Whilevisiting and presenting gifts to poor households and policy beneficiaries in ThachHai commune, Thach Ha district, Ngan wished local residents a happy new year.

Expressingher sympathy for local people over their difficulties, the top legislator saidshe was informed about the provincial administration’s proposal to stop operationsof Thach Khe ironmine. 

Havingaffirmed the locality’s marine tourism potential, she hoped local residentswould believe in the Party and State’s policies, and join hands with the localauthority to overcome difficulties and step up production, thus improving theirliving conditions.

Nguyen Trung Chien, Secretary of the Thach Hai commune Party Committee,suggested the State assist the locality in enlarging a inter-hamlet road, developinga clean-water supply system and an irrigation network for agriculturalproduction.

AcknowledgingChien’s proposal, Ngan asked the provincial administration to pay attention to ensuringsocial security in Thach Hai commune.
Shealso asked the local authority to pay attention ensuring social security in thelocality.

Thesame day, the NA Chairwoman and local officials laid a wreath ata monument dedicated tovolunteer young people and tombs of 10 young female volunteers in the specialNational Dong Loc T-junctionRelic Site.-VNA
