Hanoi (VNA) – Lawmakers continued reviewing theimplementation of the socio-economic development and state budget plans for2017 during the National Assembly’s May 26 plenary sitting, chaired by NAChairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
They also discussed the implementation of thesocio-economic development and state budget plans in the first few months of2018 alongside the state budget balance in 2016 during the sitting, broadcast liveby Vietnam Television (VTV), the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and National AssemblyTelevision Channel.
The legislators agreed with the contents and assessmentsmentioned in the reports by the Government and the NA’s committees. They highlyspoke of efforts of the Government, ministries and state agencies, businesscommunity and people from all strata in resolving difficulties and fulfillingthe socio-economic development and state budget goals last year. They pointedout not only what have been achieved but also the shortcomings, and proposed anumber of measures to deal with such weaknesses.
Later, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social AffairsDao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, and Minister ofFinance Dinh Tien Dung cleared up several issues raised by NA deputies.
In the afternoon, Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dungdelivered a government report on settlement of matters arising in the statebudget management last year and state budget estimates between 2018 and 2020 whileChairman of the NA’s Finance and Budget Committee Nguyen Duc Hai presented areport to verify the settlement of such issues.
The National Assembly will continue its sitting on May 28during which the lawmakers plan to discuss the enforcement of regulations and lawson the management and use of state capital and properties at the state-ownedenterprises (SOEs) as well as the equitisation of SOEs from 2011 – 2016.-VNA
Lawmakers spent the entire May 25 and the morning of May 26 to scrutinise the Government’s reports on socio-economic and State budget performance in 2017 and the first months of 2018.
