National brand award to honour 88 businesses

Hanoi (VNA) – Up to 88 businesses will be presented with the “Vietnam ValueAward 2016” in recognition of their national strong brand names on November 30,officials have announced. 

Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency Do Kim Lang said, out of the 88businesses, 23 firms have won the awards for five consecutive times, includingViet Tien, An Phuoc, Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage JSC (Sabeco), Vina Coffee; CommercialBank for Foreign Trade of VietnamJSC (Vietcombank); Biti’s; Vietnam Posts andTelecommunications Group (VNPT), and Saigon Jewelry JSC (SJC).

Worthy of note, 26 enterprises reported annual revenues of atleast 5 trillion VND (220 million USD) and 70 others earned at least onetrillion (44 million USD) per year, Lang said, adding that some small-sizedcompanies will be also honoured for their efforts to invest in new fields suchas biotechnology and hi-tech.

The organisers said this year’s award winners operates invarious fields such as engineering, machinery and equipment; garment-textilesand footwear; electronics, information technology and telecommunications;agriculture, forestry and seafood; finance and banking; food and beverages;trade services; construction and real estate. 

In 2015, their combined revenues exceeded 662 trillion VND (29.1 billion USD),up nearly 20 percent from the figure in 2013. They exported over 2 billion USDworth of goods, contributed over 59 trillion VND (2.6 billion USD) to the Statebudget, and created jobs for nearly 500,000 labourers.

Theenterprises also donated over 2.3 trillion VND (102 million USD) to charity activitieslast year./.
