The National Press Festival 2025 officially opened at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi on June 19 morning, marking a pivotal moment for Vietnam's media landscape as the country is celebrating its 100th anniversary of the Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).
Themed “The Vietnamese press – Loyalty, creativity, mettle, innovation for national development and protection”, this year’s festival holds special significance as it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - 2025).
The 2024 National Press Festival kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on March 15 as a significant preparation step towards the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Revolutionary Press Day.
Ninety-seven years after the first issue of the “Thanh nien” (Youth) newspaper, founded by late President Ho Chi Minh on June 21, 1925, under the leadership of the Party and upholding the traditions of the predecessors, the press in Vietnam has retained its pioneering role and bravely overcome difficulties and hardships to travel to “hotspots” and promptly report on events and fulfil its mission.
President Tran Dai Quang lauded great contributions of the press to the country’s achievements in 2017 and the first months of 2018 while addressing the closing session of the National Press Festival in Hanoi on March 18.
As many as 85 photos reflecting the vitality of the multi-thousand-year-old capital are on display at the “Hanoi trai tim hong” (Hanoi-pink heart) exhibition which opened at the Hanoi Museum.
The National Press Festival kicked off at the Hanoi Museum in Tu Liem district, Hanoi, on March 16 under the theme of “Vietnamese press accompanies the nation in renewal.”
