Hanoi (VNA) – Abatch of 659,900 AstraZenaca COVID-19 vaccine doses arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on July29, reported the Health Ministry.

It was the sixth batch andthe fourth delivery in July under a contract between AstraZeneca Vietnam andthe Vietnam Vaccine JSC (VNVC) with the support of the Health Ministry.

The contract has so far brought nearly 3.8 milliondoses to Vietnam, or about 41 percent of AstraZeneca’s total at home. Nearly 9.3 million AstraZeneca doses havebeen sent to Vietnam via deals with the VNVC, COVAX Facility and assistance fromgovernments, equivalent to 62 percent of the total vaccine supplies across thecountry.

🐻 Chairman and General Director of the AstraZenecaVietnam and emerging Asian markets Nitin Kapoor said AstraZeneca Vietnamwill continue working with the Health Ministry, the World Health Organisation,the United Nations Children’s Fund and the VNVC to bring more vaccines toVietnam in the quickest and safest manner./.

🧜 Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
