Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam documented as many as 1,031 new COVID-19 cases on April17, a record in the past nearly six months, confirmed the Health Ministry.

Since the pandemic broke out, Vietnam has logged 11,532,103infections, ranking 13th out of 230 countries and territoriesglobally. In terms of the number of cases per one million people, Vietnam isplaced 121st out of 230 countries and territories with 116,541 caseson average.

The same day, two patients weregiven all-clear from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to10,615,395.

There are now 14 patients onoxygen support, including 12 on mask ventilation and two on high-flow nasalcannula (HFNC).

No fatality has been recordedover the past seven days. The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 hasreached 43,186, or 0.4% of the total infections.

On April14, 159 vaccine doses were administered, bringing the total to 266,073,566.

๊ Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
