Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam recorded 2,501 new cases of COVID-19 on April25, the highest daily number in the past over half a year, according to theHealth Ministry.
The total number of cases since the pandemic began rose to 11,549,186.
During the day, one patient died from COVID-19, raising the total fatalities sofar to 43,188.
Meanwhile, 819 patients were given the all clear, bringing the total recoveriesto 10,618,138.
As many as 145 patients are in serious conditions needing breathing support.
Statistics of the Health Ministry showed the number of new COVID-19 cases hasbeen increasing over the past two weeks, and deaths have also been recordedafter four months.
The ministry required health departments of localities and medical establishmentsto intensify vaccination efforts./.
