New-style rural area building programme fulfills set targets
The national target programme on building new-style rural areas in 2016-2020 has completed its set targets, it was said at a conference of the programme’s coordinating offices nationwide held in the central province of Quang Tri on May 29.

Under theprogramme, more than 5,170 communes, or 58.2 percent of total communes in thecountry, have met standards for new-style rural areas. Over 2,110 trillion VND(90.44 billion USD at current exchange rate) have been mobilized from allsources to implement the programme.
Thecountry aims to have at least 80 percent of all communes recognised asnew-style rural areas by 2025, and all the remaining communes should achieve atleast 15 criteria.

ViceChairman of Quang Tri Provincial People’s Committee Ha Sy Dong said theprovince will focus on restructuring the agricultural sector as part ofbuilding new-style rural areas. He noted that production development and higherincome for the people are the factors that decide the success of the programme./.
