New wind power project receives green light in Tra Vinh

The Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh has licensed a project to build a wind power plant with a capacity of 48MW in the first phase.
The Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh has licensed a project to builda wind power plant with a capacity of 48MW in the first phase.

According to Director of the provincial Economic Zones ManagementBoard Le Tan Luc, the project has an investment of 2.4 trillion VND((112 million USD) and is slated to generate electricity to the nationalgrid as from September 2017.

The plant will have 24turbines, which will span over 1,200 hectares of land and water surfacein Truong Long Hoa and Dan Thanh communes in Duyen Hai district.

The project is in line with the provincial plan to develop alternative power supply sources from 2011-2015.-VNA
