Nine more COVID-19 cases logged in Bac Ninh

The northern province of Bac Ninh reported nine more cases of COVID-19 linked with a pandemic cluster at the Hanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases on May 6.

Bac Ninh (VNA) – The northern province of Bac Ninhreported nine more cases of COVID-19 linked with a pandemic cluster at theHanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases on May 6.

On May 5, the province recorded two infections.

All of the new patients are under treatment at the Bac Ninhgeneral hospital.

Located in Hanoi’s outlying district of Dong Anh, thehospital was the frontline facility in the COVID-19 fight. On May 4, a doctorof the hospital was confirmed positive for the coronavirus.

On the May 6, the central city of Da Nang confirmed a new case, who is a staffof the New Phuong Dong nightclub. The apartment where the patient lives hasbeen blocked.

On May 4, a staff of the nightclub was confirmed positivefor the virus.

Also on May 6, the health sector in the neighbouring provinceof Quang Ngai announced a new case in Quang Ngai city’s Tinh Ky commune linkedwith a pandemic outbreak at the New Phuong Dong nightclub.

Following the detection, local authorities immediatelyordered the temporary closure of schools in the commune and a ban on entry ofvessels to the area in a bid to curb the spread of the disease./.

ဣ Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
