Ninh Binh: Needy children receive free heart checkups

Nearly 200 deprived children in the northern province of Ninh Binh were provided free cardiac examinations and consultancies on March 12.

Ninh Binh (VNA) – Nearly 200 deprived children in the northernprovince of Ninh Binh were provided free cardiac examinations and consultanciesby doctors from the National Heart Institute and provincial obstetrics and paediatricshospital on March 12.

Pham Cam Ky, director of the provincial obstetrics and paediatrics hospitalsaid that the free checkups will help detect congenital heart diseases amongchildren so that they can have timely intervention.

This also allows local doctors to learn from National Heart Institute doctors,he said, adding that his hospital plans to coordinate with central hospitals tooffer further free checkups to the disadvantaged in the locality.

Impoverished families were also helped to apply for financial support fromhumanitarian organisations so that their children can have heart operations.

On March 11-12, the Department of Health and the Vietnam Red Cross in thecentral province of Quang Tri worked with Minh Duc Charitable Foundation toconduct free medical examinations, provide free medicine and present gifts to5,000 poor people and 1,000 needy children in Hai Lang district.-VNA

𒉰 Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
