Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamconfirmed no new COVID-19 cases from May 21 afternoon to May 22 morning, markingthe 36th consecutive day without community transmission.
According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention andControl, the total infections in the country stands at 324, including 184imported cases which were quarantined upon their arrival.
As many as 266 out of 324 patients have recovered as updated on May 22 morning,accounting for 82 percent of the total.
The 58 remainders are being treated at nine national and provincial medialfacilities, with four testing negative once for SARS-CoV-2, the novelcoronavirus that causes the acute respiratory disease, and four negative atleast twice.
A total of 14,744people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients orreturned from pandemic-hit areas are under health monitoring, of whom 266 werequarantined at hospitals, 7,726 at other concentrated facilities and 6,752 athome.
