No new COVID-19 cases reported on March 22 morning

Vietnam saw no new COVID-19 case in the past 12 hours to 6am of March 22, keeping the national count at 2,572, including 2,198 recoveries, according to the Health Ministry.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam saw no new COVID-19 case inthe past 12 hours to 6am of March 22, keeping the national count at 2,572,including 2,198 recoveries, according to the Health Ministry.

So far, 10 localities have experienced at least 36 dayswithout any new local infections, namely Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, BinhDuong, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Gia Lai, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh and HCM City.

Hanoi has also been through 33 days of no new domestically-transmittedCOVID-19 infections, while Hai Duong, the largest hotspot in the latest wave ofCOVID-19, three days.

Among the patients still under treatment, 37 have testednegative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 18 twice and 63 thrice. Death toll remains at 35.

Meanwhile, 37,174 people are being quarantined nationwide,with 490 at hospitals, 17,990 at concentratedquarantine facilities and 18,694 at their accommodations.

According to the National Expanded Programme on Immunization,as of 4pm of March 21, an additional 1,530 people had received COVID-19vaccine, raising the total number of vaccinated people to 33,981.

The Ministry of Health advised people, included those who havebeen injected with COVID-19 vaccine, to continue preventive measures, includingthe “5K message” (in Vietnamese) - Khautrang (facemask)- (Khu khuan) disinfection- (Khoang cach) distance- (Khong tutap) no gathering – (Khai bao y te) health declaration.

As the pandemicsituation eases, as from 0:00 of March 22, the northern province of Quang Ninh hadlifted all COVID-19 checkpoints and re-opened all business activities. As ofMarch 21, the province has gone through 40 days without any new local COVID-19infections./.
