Noi Bai airport expects 80,000 passengers on peak day during Lunar New Year season
The Noi Bai international airport in Hanoi is expected to serve 450 flights and up to 80,000 passengers on the peak day during the travel season for the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday (Tet) – Vietnam’s biggest and longest traditional festival.

However, the figure is yet to match the highest daily passenger number during the summer of 2022. June 25 saw over 104,000 passengers, nearly 93,000 of whom were domestic travellers, going through the airport.
Leaders of the airport said a host of international airlinesplan to resume flights this winter, with good growth projected for the numberof international flights to and from Noi Bai during Tet.
It is estimated that there will be 220 international flightscarrying some 22,000 passengers landing in and taking off from the airport perday during the peak period. The figures are equal to approximately 70% of thoserecorded in the same period in 2019 before the breakout of the COVID-19pandemic.
Noi Bai has already prepared plans to meet the upcoming highdemand, under which more check-in counters and security facility will be opened and operated infull capacity, IT advances applied to calculate peak hours of each area,and coordination with transport police enhanced to regulate transport around the airport, amongother activities.
According to a recent dispatch, officials, civil servants,public employees and workers of State administrative and socio-politicalorganisations will have seven days off from January 20 (Friday) to January 26(Thursday) for Tet celebrations. Lãnh đạo Cảng hàng không quốc tế Nội Bài cho biết, dịp Tết Quý Mão 2023, ngày cao điểm nhất sân bay có thể đón tới 80 nghìn khách với 450 lượt chuyến bay.
Mặc dù lượng khách tăng cao, nhưng sản lượng quốc tế chưa vượt qua đỉnh cao trước dịch năm 2019; sản lượng quốc nội chưa vượt qua đỉnh mùa hè 2022.
Trước đó, dịp cao điểm hè, sản lượng hành khách đều liên tục lập đỉnh mới mỗi ngày. Riêng ngày 24/6, lượng vận chuyển đạt 102 nghìn lượt khách; trong đó, có 91 nghìn lượt khách nội địa. Tiếp đó, ngày 25/6 đạt hơn 104 nghìn lượt khách; trong đó, có gần 93 nghìn lượt khách nội địa.
Về vận chuyển khách quốc tế, lãnh đạo Cảng hàng không quốc tế Nội Bài cho biết, lượng khách quốc tế đang trên đà hồi phục với khoảng 16 nghìn lượt khách và 170 lượt chuyến bay đi/đến. Dự kiến hàng loạt các hãng hàng không quốc tế mở lại khai thác trong lịch bay mùa đông, sản lượng các chuyến bay quốc tế đi/đến sân bay Nội Bài dịp Tết Quý Mão 2023 sẽ tăng trưởng tốt, với khoảng 22 nghìn lượt khách và 220 lượt chuyến bay/ngày cao điểm, đạt khoảng 70% so với dịp Tết Nguyên đán 2019 (trước dịch COVID-19).
Liên quan đến việc phục vụ khách dịp cao điểm Tết, lãnh đạo Cảng hàng không quốc tế Nội Bài cho hay, ngay từ bây giờ Cảng đã chủ động triển khai các phương án, kế hoạch chi tiết. Cụ thể, sẽ mở hết các quầy thủ tục, chuẩn bị một cơ số quầy dự phòng cho các hãng hàng không sử dụng khi tăng chuyến bay; mở tối đa các máy soi chiếu an ninh; ứng dụng công nghệ thông tin để tính toán các khung giờ cao điểm của từng khu vực; phối hợp với lực lượng Công an điều tiết giao thông tại sân đỗ ô tô, các luồng phương tiện tiếp cận nhà ga để đảm bảo sự thông thoáng và thuận tiện cho hành khách.
Tùy từng giai đoạn cao điểm, Cảng hàng không lớn nhất miền Bắc này có thể huy động thêm lực lượng Đoàn Thanh niên, khối lao động gián tiếp để hỗ trợ các đơn vị trực tiếp phục vụ hành khách.
Về dài hạn, Cảng đang tích cực phối hợp với Cảng vụ hàng không miền Bắc và các cơ quan có thẩm quyền sớm hoàn thiện các thủ tục quy hoạch nội bộ nhằm tối ưu hóa các khu vực hoạt động của Cảng, giải quyết việc giới hạn sân đỗ ô tô hiện nay. Cùng đó, phối hợp chặt chẽ với các hãng hàng không và các đơn vị phục vụ mặt đất để rà soát và điều chỉnh hợp lý các khâu phục vụ nhằm đảm bảo thuận lợi nhất cho hành khách.
Đặc biệt, Cảng hàng không quốc tế Nội Bài đã yêu cầu các công ty nhượng quyền cung cấp dịch vụ vận tải tại Cảng đảm bảo đủ phương tiện phục vụ người dân, kể cả những chuyến đêm muộn hay sáng sớm; triển khai các đoàn đánh giá nội bộ để tiếp tục cải thiện và nâng cao chất lượng dịch vụ.../.
