Nuclear power plant supplied with electricity

The construction of a system supplying electricity for the Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant, the first of its kind in Vietnam, began in central Ninh Thuan province on December 12.

The facilityincludes a 13.63km long 110kV power line and a transformer station,according to Director General of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) PhamLe Thanh.

Its contractors are Song Da 11–Thang Long and Song Da Someco Joint Stock Companies.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang TrungHai said the development of nuclear power is significant in ensuringenergy security, environmental protection, and increasing potential forscience-technology.

He asked the EVN to work withcontractors and local authorities to ensure stable electricity provisionfor the nuclear power plant.-VNA
