Hanoi (VNA) –
Vietnam detected one importedcase of COVID-19 over the past 12 hours to 6:00 am on February 26, raising thenational count to 2,421, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19Prevention and Control reported.

The latest patient is a 28-year-old Vietnamese womanwho entered the country via Moc Bai international border gate in the southernprovince of Tay Ninh and was quarantined right upon her arrival. She is nowunder treatment at the provincial general hospital.

As of February 25, the total number of domestic cases reached1,520, the committee said.

As many as 76,495 people who had close contact withCOVID-19 patients or came from pandemic-hit areas are now under medicalmonitoring nationwide, with 580 people in hospitals, 12,038 in otherState-designated quarantine establishments, and 63,877 at home.

The committee’s treatment sub-committee said 1,804patients have recovered so far.

Among the active patients, 62 have tested negative forthe coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once, 57 twice and 77 thrice.

According to the Ministry of Health, nine cities andprovinces have gone through 14 days without new domestic cases, comprising HoaBinh, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Binh Duong, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Gia Lai, Bac Ninhand Quang Ninh.
 
The health ministry urges people to strictly followthe 5K principle to stop the spread of the pandemic. The 5K principle means Khau trang (Facemask) – Khu khuan(Disinfection) – Khoang cach (Keeping distance) – Khong tap trung dong nguoi(No gathering) – Khai bao y te (Medical declaration)./.
