Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam recorded one new imported case of COVID-19over the last 12 hours, bringing the national total to 1,110, the nationalsteering committee for COVID-19 prevention and control said on October 12evening.

The patient is a 35-year-old Indian expert, who entered Vietnam on October 6 onFlight 6E9471 and was sent to a concentrated quarantine centre in Ho Chi MinhCity upon his arrival.

At present, the man is being treated at the HCM City Hospital for TropicalDiseases.

Of the total case, 691 infected the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 domestically, with551 reported since July 25, when the new outbreak began.

Also on October 12, a patient was given the all-clear, bringing the total numberrecoveries to 1,025. Death toll remains at 35.

Among the patients still under treatment, eight have tested negative forSARS-CoV-2 once, two twice and 15 thrice. Currently, there is no patient incritical conditions.

There are now 16,160 people having close contact with confirmed cases or comingfrom pandemic-hit regions under quarantine, including 282 in hospitals, 13,331in other quarantine sites, and 2,547 at home or accommodation facilities./.

🌟 Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
